A Family History

Dr. McGrady grew up in Buffalo Grove, IL, watching his father, Dr. Michael J. McGrady, care for orthodontic patients across the northwest suburbs for nearly 30 years. The elder Dr. McGrady built lasting relationships with families in Buffalo Grove and Lake Zurich, and earlier in his career practiced alongside Dr. Jesse Soltis in the very same Palatine office McGrady Orthodontics calls home today. In the years that followed, our office became home to Aylward Orthodontics, where Dr. Gerry Aylward earned the deep trust of the community through decades of exceptional, compassionate care.

Dr. McGrady is honored to continue that legacy. He's deeply grateful to Dr. Aylward for the respected practice he built here and the standard of care he set, and is committed to serving the same families with the same dedication.

Road to Orthodontics

Dr. McGrady attended Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire before earning his undergraduate degree at Loyola University Chicago. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, then completed his residency in Orthodontics at Marquette University.

A Return Home

After years away for school and clinical training, Dr. McGrady practiced as an associate and treated patients in Park Ridge and Elmhurst. For Dr. McGrady, reopening McGrady Orthodontics wasn't just a career decision; it was a homecoming to the area he grew up in. He's proud to bring the next generation of orthodontic care to the patients, families, and neighborhoods his family has served for decades.
