Sending Us Photos
How to take clear photos of your smile and send them in for a quick check between visits.
Sometimes a question or concern about your braces or aligners can be handled without a trip to the office. We may ask you to take photos at home and text them in, and he'll review them and decide whether an office visit is needed. The example photos below show the angles to capture. Clear-aligner patients should take two sets: one with the aligners in and one with them out.
Instructions for taking close-up photos using your cell phone (requires 2 people):
- Bite together on your back teeth, then use your fingers (or two clean spoons) to pull your cheeks back so your teeth show clearly.
- Smile big and take three photos: front/center, left side, and right side.
- Add one photo of your upper teeth and one of your lower teeth with your mouth open.
- Text the photos one at a time to (847) 242-2724 with your name and a short note about your concern, and we'll follow up once the doctor has reviewed them. To ensure your concerns are addressed, please verify that photos are focused so we can accurately view them.
