Discreet treatment for teens and adults
A modern alternative to braces: clear, removable trays that gradually straighten your teeth on a custom timeline.
A series of custom trays, swapped over time
Clear aligners are nearly invisible plastic trays designed to fit your teeth precisely. Each set is worn for about one to two weeks, gently shifting teeth a fraction of a millimeter before being swapped for the next. Over a full treatment course, that adds up to a fully straightened smile.
Treatment starts with an iTero™ digital scan, no goopy impressions. Dr. McGrady reviews the 3D model with you, plans every movement, and shows you a preview of your finished smile before you commit.
Adults, teens, and most cases in between
Clear aligners work well for mild to moderate spacing, crowding, and bite issues. They're especially popular with adults who want a discreet option that fits a professional life, and with teens who want straighter teeth without the look of brackets.
Common questions about clear aligners
How much do clear aligners cost in Palatine?
Clear aligner treatment is typically priced in line with traditional braces and depends on case complexity and treatment length. Dr. McGrady provides a transparent cost estimate at your free first consultation, and we offer flexible monthly financing along with most insurance plans.
How long does clear aligner treatment take?
Most cases finish in 9 to 18 months, though minor cosmetic cases can complete faster and complex bites can take longer. Dr. McGrady will walk you through a personalized timeline at your first visit based on your specific case.
Can I eat and drink with my aligners in?
Take your aligners out for meals and for any drink other than water. This protects the trays from staining and warping, and prevents food from getting trapped against your teeth.
Are clear aligners as effective as braces?
For mild to moderate spacing, crowding, and bite issues, clear aligners produce excellent results. For more complex bites, Damon Ultima™ braces may be the better choice. Dr. McGrady will recommend the right option for your case.
How do I clean my aligners?
Rinse them every time you take them out, brush them gently with a soft toothbrush and clear soap, and avoid hot water (which can warp the plastic). Avoid toothpaste, which can scratch the trays and dull their clarity.
